Applying a Policy

The Policy Runner will apply the current policy to the asset inventory, comparing asset information with the policy criteria and recalculating scheduled costs and replacement dates as needed. To run the Policy Runner:

  1. From the Main Menu, choose Policies (Main Menu)->Policies to navigate to a list of your agencies policies.
  2. From the list of potential policies, select the one marked as Current.
  3. From the Actions Menu, select Apply this policy to go to the Policy Runner.
  4. Use the checkboxes to select the asset type(s) you want to re-analyze.
  5. Click the Run… button to update the policy.

The policy runner will inform you it is applying the policy to the selected assets as a background job. Once the background job is complete, the Notifications Menu indicates that the assets have been updated to reflect the policy.

Note: To set a policy to current, from the policy detail page use the Actions Menu to set the policy as current.
