TransAM is an asset management system designed to support the needs of state agencies and the many transit agencies that operate in the Commonwealth. TransAM manages assets of all types, including rolling stock, facilities, equipment, and more. TransAM stores crucial information about every asset type and maintains a complete history of the asset as it ages; changes in condition, usage, value/depreciation, and much more are recorded and can be reviewed at any time. TransAM also generates a variety of reports on asset condition, value, and replacement needs.
The current release of TransAM includes the following:
- Inventory module, which enables you to manage and update information about the assets your agency owns or leases. Master information about each asset can be supplemented by periodic user updates that indicate the condition, mileage, or other status information at a particular point in time, including the disposal of each asset, providing a complete audit history of your agency's asset inventory.
- Capital Planning module: Based on established agency policies, the Capital Planning module estimates the useful life of assets and predicts the year in which they will need to be replaced. Your agency can develop detailed capital plans for each upcoming year, indicating the assets that will be replaced and the predicted cost. You can edit and customize these capital plans to fit your budget or evaluate the impacts of different replacement policies on capital needs.
